Cookie Policy

This website uses cookies.

In accordance with Directive 2009/136/EC and Italian legislation governing the use of cookies, contained in Article 122 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 (hereinafter the "Privacy Code"), we hereby inform you about the cookies used by the website of Amplifon S.p.A. (hereinafter the "Website") and the reason for their use. The following information is provided pursuant to Article 13 of the Privacy Code and completes the privacy policy posted on the Website. For whatever is not directly explained here, please refer to the contents of the Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that can be used by websites to make the user experience more efficient.

Why are cookies used?

The use of cookies provides many benefits in the provision of information society services, including: (i) facilitating a user's browsing on the website and access to the various services offered; (ii) avoiding users having to reconfigure the general characteristics each time they access the Website; (iii) promoting the improvement of performance and services provided through the Website, following the corresponding analysis of the information obtained through the cookies installed; (iv) promoting their customised sales initiatives based on the choices made by the user.

Types of cookies

"Technical" cookies

These cookies meet certain technical requirements that help to make a website accessible by enabling basic functions such as page browsing and access to protected areas of the Website. The website may not function properly without these cookies. Sometimes cookies are also used to enable a website to remember information influencing the way the website behaves or looks, such as the preferred language or the region where the user is located, or to understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting and transmitting information in aggregate form which cannot be used to directly identify the user (analytics).

These types of cookies are also described as "technical cookies". The law states that "technical cookies" can be installed on the user's device following due notification, which will be defined by this document.

Profiling cookies

All other cookies, along with statistical cookies operated by third parties, are considered "profiling cookies". This category especially includes the cookies used to track and analyse the user's activities on the internet, in order to make improvements and provide our services in a more efficient and customised manner. The intention is to offer the visitor a display of relevant and engaging ads targeted at the individual user. For the use of these cookies the user's prior consent is necessary: on the first access, it is considered that the user has consented to the installation of profiling cookies if he/she continues to browse after the submission of the notice on cookies in the corresponding banner. Subsequently, the user can opt out by checking the appropriate boxes in the descriptive forms within this document.

Differentiation between cookies

Cookies can be differentiated into the following categories depending on the feature under consideration: the owner, the data retention period, the purpose of use.

Differentiation by owner

  • Own cookies: These cookies are sent to the terminal of the user's computer from a computer or domain managed by the manager of the Website from which the service requested by the user is supplied.
  • Third-party cookies: These cookies are sent to the user's terminal by a server or domain that is not managed by the operator of the Website, but by another entity which is the one that processes the data obtained through cookies.

Cookies installed through the Website can be either ours or third-party cookies. In the latter case, advertisers and other parties may use their own cookies to collect information regarding user activity on the Website and/or the advertisements on which the user has clicked. We provide links to policy and consent forms of such third parties or any intermediaries (if available) to allow users to make their own informed choices.

This information could be used by them to present advertisements which they believe could be more interesting for you because they are based on the content you have just seen.

We have no control over these cookies. To disable or reject third-party cookies it is necessary to refer to the third-party websites.

Differentiation by data retention period

  • Session cookies: These cookies are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are often used to store information only for the service requested by the user at any time and are automatically deleted at the end of the session (for example, a list of products purchased).
  • Persistent cookies: The data is stored in these cookies on the user's terminal and they can be accessed and used for a period of time defined by Amplifon, which could last from a few minutes to considerably longer periods (as specified in the reference tables in this document).

Differentiation by purpose of use

Essential cookies: allow you to browse the Website and to use all its functions. Without these cookies you may not be provided certain services or functions and browsing on the Website would not be easy and functional.

Functionality cookies: allow storing of the user's choices on the Website and/or services expressly requested by the user, in order to provide more advanced and more personalised services, such as customising a page or remembering where and what has been proposed to the user previously.

Analysis cookies: collect information about the use of the Website (such as the indication of the pages most frequently visited, verification of recurrent patterns while using the Website, etc.) and allows for improvement of its functioning, helping to understand any difficulties encountered in the use of the Website.

Targeting and advertising cookies: for publishing advertisements that are deemed of interest to the user, for example limiting the number of times an advertisement is presented on the Website (because the cookie remembers what the user has seen on the Website) and helping to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. This information may be shared with other parties, such as advertisers. For more information about Targeting and Advertising cookies and how they can be disabled, as well as exercising consent through the forms in this document, we recommend the following sites: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices and http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/index.html.
